Testimonials

My son Rod has worked with Tom as his private pitching coach for the past two years here in California. Rod is a 17 year high school senior who recently signed a National Letter of Intent to pitch for Northwest Missouri State in 2012-13.

Tom Oldham was instrumental in preparing Rod to get a scholarship to play at the next level. He has a great knowledge of pitching mechanics and the ability to apply them differently to each of his clients. Tom is excellent at relating to his students  and instilling a sense of confidence and fun in their workouts. He understands the subtleties of pitching and breaks it all down which allowed my son to continuously improve his velocity, command of his pitches and mental approach.

Tom was also invaluable to Rod during the recruiting process with his insight into college baseball and his willingness to encourage and guide Rod.

Rod is very pleased that he will continue to work with Tom during his college career at Northwest Missouri. We could not recommend a better pitching coach or person.

My son, Dash, trained with Tom Oldham in Southern California for approximately two years prior to Tom relocating to Omaha. A combination of hard work by Dash and masterful coaching by Tom has sparked the interest in Dash from college baseball coaches from, literally, coast to coast.

Tom has a rare ability to effectively convey his vast knowledge of pitching mechanics and strategy to young adults, teens and youngsters, alike. The fact that he catches his students’ bullpens is extraordinary.

Southern California’s loss is certainly Omaha’s gain.

Our son has worked with Tom since first showing an interest in pitching at about 8 years of age. Over the past 2 1/2 years, Kellen has vastly improved his pitching mechanics and mound presence, and his confidence in the game has grown by leaps and bounds! Tom’s instruction has helped Kellen to develop a positive and focused mental approach on the field and has instilled an advanced understanding of how to attack quality hitters. One of Tom’s greatest strengths, however, may be intangible; his sincere concern for the physical health of all his students and innate ability to connect with young baseball players and foster a love and respect for our Grand Game always shines through! The fantastic results we’ve seen with Kellen are a testament to the quality instruction and extra support Tom provides to all his baseball students. Bravo Tom!! Thanks for everything!!

My 13-year-old son had the privilege to work with Tom Oldham. Tom is one of a kind. His expert skills, professionalism and experience, along with a wonderful heart make him a win, win for any level. Toms training not only dramatically improved my sons baseball skills in batting and pitching but he also gave him confidence and taught him how to believe in his skills. Words cannot describe what a gem Tom Oldham is and how grateful we are to have had the privilege to have worked with him.

Tom Oldham is quiet possibly the best instructor I have ever worked with. His understanding of proper mechanics and the mental skills necessary to succeed in baseball is second to none. What sets Tom apart from the myriad of instructors out there is his ability to communicate to and connect with the players he works with. His athletes demonstrate not only the ability perform the skills he teaches but an understanding as to why what they are doing leads to increased performance. This understanding empowers his athletes to be successful for years to come. I would highly recommend Tom to anyone looking to realize their athletic potential.

We had the pleasure of working with Tom for my 10 year old son Joshua. Josh only had four lessons with Tom before he moved to NE but what a difference he made. Josh’s velocity is up significantly, as well as his control. Josh’s confidence and presence on the mound is incredible. He is not afraid to challenge batters. Tom not only worked on his mechanics but spent lots of time talking to Josh about the mental aspect of the game; how to read batters, exude confidence, have the right approach and as Josh knows “Throw a quality pitch!” If you want your son to be a batter pitcher then you MUST bring him to Tom. His knowledge, ability to connect with kids and professionalism is in one word AWESOME! We will miss Tom but his coaching will stay with Josh always.

My son Daniel was fortunate to have Tom as his pitching coach for 2 1/2 years. When Tom met Daniel he discussed with me Daniels strengths and weaknesses. Tom polished Daniels strengths and worked on improving Daniels’s weaknesses. From the beginning you could see it in Daniels performance on the field the impact Tom had on Daniels pitching. From Daniel’s perspective the relationship with Tom was like big brother little brother and what ever big brother had to say little brother listened. From a parents side it was money very well spent. Daniel has become very competitive in a sport he loves. This is due to Tom’s teaching, understanding and making Daniel believe in himself, and this has caused Daniel to excel.

Tom Oldham is a wonderful teacher who communicates confidence, emphasizes mechanics and values work ethic while covering both the physical and mental aspects of baseball. Most importantly, Tom is patient with a genuine caring nature that results in an complete, individualized plan for each player to improve his approach. He helped my son secure the number one spot on his high school team by motivating him to work hard and make adjustments using video and fun drills.

I brought my then 9 yr old son, Noah, to Tom based on a referral from a family friend. Noah was very enthusiastic about pitching but his skills were way behind the other players his age because he just picked up the sport. After working with Coach Tom, Noah earned a few appearances on the mound that first season.  We kept working with Tom on pitching and hitting and Noah grew more consistent and confident.  The next season (Noah plays fall and spring ball) he became a regular member of his team’s pitching rotation and had several good outings.  The third season he really blossomed.  He started the season as a regular in the pitching rotation but by mid-season he became the starter, regularly holding the opposing team scoreless in the first two innings.  In our league kids can pitch 40 pitches max.  His best games were at the end of the season.  He pitched back to back 1 hitters with no runs scoring followed by a perfect 2 innings in his final game – no hits or walks.  We are also very happy with Noah’s progress in hitting.  He has hit mostly third in the batting order for the past few seasons because he gets on base so consistently.

We couldn’t be happier with Tom.  Noah’s skills have improved greatly and Tom has done this while keeping the game fun.  Going to practice with Coach Tom is the highlight of my son’s week.  I even signed up my 7 year old and he thoroughly enjoys practicing with him, too.

Tom has made both my sons better players.  He has a motivating, positive coaching style that keeps the kids engaged.  While waiting for our practice time we’d watch Tom work with Jr. High, High School and College players and they all appeared to be learning, improving and having fun.  I wholeheartedly recommend him to any age player looking to improve.

Our son Logan was one of the first players that Tom took on when he started coaching.  In the three years that Tom worked with our son on his hitting, pitching, fielding and conditioning Tom always focused on building on the positives and kept the practices fun.  With this building of “trust” between our son and Tom he was able to gently push our son to achievements that our son Logan did not think possible.  With this continuous improvement in my son’s pitching and batting skills he has been able to continue to pursue his love for baseball.
